Date: 2011-07-11 01:52 pm (UTC)Gwen's coming across extremely patronising towards Miss Carew here. I love her, but she's bugged me a few times so far.
It's a great exercise in series 1-2 nostalgia hearing GDL and Ianto again. Still pining the lack of this snarky, confident and clever Ianto in 95% of series three.

Date: 2011-07-11 01:55 pm (UTC)So far, my reaction is that we've got an awful lot of James Bond villains running around. "Here's my evil plan so you can fix it."
I'm guessing this is because they're trying to bite off a lot in a one hour format, so, right - how about going for something smaller?
Ditto on the Ianto commentary.

Did anyone else have an awful flashback moment as Jack and Ianto were standing in the purpose-built room that was waiting to receive a threatening, unseen alien from outer space wanting to come to Earth and destroy all their lives ???

Date: 2011-07-11 02:12 pm (UTC)It was made up for quite a bit by the lolworthiness of Gwen getting captured and hog-tied by an 81-year-old lady *grins*

Date: 2011-07-11 08:47 pm (UTC)Why did they set it this year? That is odd.
I enjoyed the banter between Jack and Ianto, and Gwen and Rhys, I liked how they made it two couples, and I liked the way Jack and Ianto were having an adventure, they were very cute.
